Store And Reheat Shrimp Pasta Carbonara

How to Make: Olive Garden Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara (Copycat)

This is a tricky one because the sauce will get thicker when the pasta cools down.

Store it in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge. I wouldnt recommend freezing it.

When reheating, add a bit of chicken stock or water to it before putting it in the microwave oven for a couple of minutes.

How To Store And Reheat These Leftovers

You will want to store your leftovers in an airtight container in your fridge. They will last up to three days. I recommend if you arent going to consume all of this shrimp carbonara recipe in one sitting, I recommend storing the pasta and the sauce in separate containers. When you store the sauce and the pasta separately so the pasta does not soak up the sauce.

When you reheat this dish, I recommend reheating the sauce in a small saucepan on the stovetop. Heat the sauce gently and slowly, you may want to add a bit more cream to this sauce.

How To Make Copycat Olive Garden Carbonara

STEP ONE: Start by combining the extra virgin olive oil, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, cracked peppercorns, and salt in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Pour the marinade into a ziplock bag and add the sliced chicken tenderloins and shrimp. Seal the bag and allow the protein to marinate in the fridge for 4 hours.

STEP TWO: Once the meat has marinated, cook the spaghetti until al dente in a large pot or salted boiling water. Then drain the pasta and set it aside. Next, pour the chicken, shrimp, and the marinade into a skillet over medium-high heat and cook for 7 minutes. After 7 minutes, remove the shrimp and add in the sliced red bell pepper. Cook the chicken and bell pepper mix for another 5 minutes.

STEP THREE: Continue by cooking the pancetta. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to a dutch oven over medium-high heat and add the pancetta for 5 minutes. Next, add the salted butter and allow it to melt. Lower the heat to medium-low and whisk in the flour.

STEP FOUR: Add the crushed garlic, grated parmesan cheese, heavy cream, and egg yolks. Whisk the sauce constantly for 5 minutes to prevent the eggs from scrambling. Once the sauce is done, add the cooked spaghetti and toss to coat the noodles.

STEP FIVE: Pour the pasta into an oven-safe casserole dish and top it with the cooked chicken, shrimp, and bell peppers. Preheat your ovens broiler.

Prepare The Carbonara Sauce

To the remaining bacon and garlic in the pan, add red bell pepper strips. Saute for 3 minutes, until pepper is just beginning to soften. Then, add the cream and parmesan cheese into the pan as well. Stir until the cheese has fully melted. Season with ½ teaspoon black pepper. Remove the carbonara sauce mix from heat.

To the pan with the sauce, add in 1 beaten egg, whisking quickly to emulsify the egg throughout. Don’t worry about any raw egg dangers, as the heat of the sauce will thoroughly cook the egg as you incorporate it with the other ingredients. Add the chicken and shrimp, and cover with sauce.

If you haven’t done so yet, this would be a good time to cook your spaghetti. We recommend cooking it to an al dente texture.

Prepare The Marinade For The Chicken And Shrimp

In a large bowl or casserole dish, combine the oil, hot water, Italian seasoning, and 3 minced garlic cloves. Whisk it all together to combine into a marinade. Add the chicken breasts and shrimp and let them soak in the marinade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. The hot water helps the flavors permeate into the chicken and shrimp more quickly, cutting down on the time spent hanging out in the fridge.

While the chicken and shrimp are marinating, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions . Drain and stir the pasta with a bit of olive oil to avoid the noodles sticking together.

Great food from start to finish. Best raspberry lemonade. The appetizers were good and fresh. We shared the sampler of fried ravioli a combination of beef and pork, stuffed mushrooms and fried calamari. The bread sticks were tasty and I never eat them. Our server Kia was a little robotic at first after a while she warmed up. The wait was short for a party of 2. The Zuppa Toscana soup was nice it warmed my bones the AC was cranked up. It reminded me of the wedding soup. My friends entree was the Parmesan Crusted Bistecca. It was really good and the steak was prepared well and still moist. My dish was the chicken and shrimpcarbonara. It was delicious nice and cheesy, shrimp and chicken grilled just right the sauce and pastas were perfectly seasoned and blended well. I will definitely return.

What Makes Shrimp Carbonara With Chicken Unique

This classic recipe is an Olive Garden favorite. Who doesnt love a rich carbonara sauce?. Its made up of sautéed seasoned chicken, shrimp, and bucatini pasta tossed in a creamy carbonara sauce with bacon and roasted red peppers. But this version uses chicken tenders for the chicken to offer a new twist on this classic dish. The breaded chicken tenders combine with all the other flavors so beautifully. And your kids will love it too!

Cook The Shrimp And Bacon

BETTER THAN OLIVE GARDEN CHICKEN AND SHRIMP CARBONARA RECIPE

Using the same pan that you used for the chicken, you can now cook the shrimp and bacon. Add shrimp and saute for 3 minutes on one side, then turn them over and saute for an additional 2 minutes, until shrimp is pink on both sides. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, unless you really want that rubbery shrimp experience. As soon as it’s done, remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.

To prepare the sauce, set the pan to medium heat. Add butter and allow it to melt. Then, add in the diced bacon and 1 minced garlic clove. Saute this bacon and garlic mixture for 2 minutes, stirring as needed, until bacon bits are browned and crispy. Remove a tablespoon of the bacon bits from the pan and set aside.

  • How Can You Customize This Copycat Olive Garden Chicken And Shrimp Carbonara

The best part of making copycat restaurant recipes at home is you can modify the dish to suit your tastes, time and budget. This Olive Garden chicken and shrimp carbonara is no different. Here are some of our favorite ways to put a twist on this recipe:

    Change the Protein

Skip the fried breaded chicken and instead opt for sliced grilled chicken breasts or even pieces of cooked rotisserie chicken. If you dont enjoy shrimp, you can swap them for scallops or omit them entirely and go for extra chicken.

    Extra Veggies

Load up this easy copycat Olive Garden recipe with color, texture and nutrition with an array of other vegetables. Sauteed bell peppers or mushrooms would be lovely additions. Steamed broccoli or grilled zucchini, like in this summer carbonara, are other tasty options to consider.

    Different Pasta

Long spaghetti or bucatini is traditional, but if Olive Garden has taught us anything, its that its okay to deviate from the classic. Smaller kid-friendly shapes like rotini, penne or farfalle are great for tiny hands. Fettuccine and linguine are other long-cut pasta varieties that would also work well in this recipe.

Gather The Ingredients For Chicken And Shrimp Carbonara

The ingredient list here is a bit elaborate, but trust us when we say the final dish is well worth the time it might take to assemble it. For the proteins, you will need skinless, boneless chicken breasts, along with large shrimp that have been both peeled and deveined, and some bacon slices. As for the carbs, we like spaghetti or other narrow pasta for serving with the dish.

For the marinade, you will need extra virgin olive oil, hot water, Italian seasoning, and garlic. To bread the chicken and for thickening the sauce, grab some all-purpose flour, bread crumbs, eggs, oil, salt, and pepper.

And finally, to make the carbonara sauce, you’ll also need butter, a red bell pepper, heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and some flat-leaf Italian parsley.

Serve Olive Garden Chicken And Shrimp Carbonara With Spaghetti

When serving, place the hot, cooked spaghetti on a relatively large serving platter. Top it with the chicken and shrimp in carbonara sauce. Spoon the sauce generously over the chicken breasts, then top it with reserved bacon bits, additional grated parmesan cheese and parsley, and serve. Alternatively, you can also add the pasta directly to the pan and mix everything together there for a slightly more rustic presentation.

Each serving should have a nice mound of spaghetti, a breaded and fried chicken breast, a few pieces of juicy shrimp, browned bacon bits and plenty of rich, gooey sauce. Leftover chicken and shrimp carbonara will keep in a sealed container in the fridge for 4 days.

Why You’re Going To Love This Recipe
