    I use the Air Fryer to cook my lobster tail. You could also use the broil function on your oven if you need to make multiple lobster tails.

    First, create your garlic butter mixture. I combine butter, minced garlic, freshly chopped chives, salt, and a squeeze of lemon juice and microwave until melted. You could also use this garlic butter mixture I use in thissteak recipe.

    Then butterfly your lobster tails.

    How To Cook Lobster Tail Different Cooking Methods

    There are many ways you can cook lobster tail. However, it is easy to overcook lobster tails. Be sure to pay close attention to the lobster so they are not overcooked in the air fryer or other cooking methods.

    Cooking lobster tail in the air fryer: When cooking lobster in the air fryer, the shell will turn color into a beautiful light pink/red color. In the air fryer cook the lobster for about 8 minutes .

    Boiling lobster tail: When it comes to boiling lobster, it is best to remember for every ounce, it takes 1 minute of boiling process.

    How To Butterfly A Lobster Tail

    The butterflying of lobsters is very easy and it makes the lobster meat easier to eat. It also looks pretty on a plate. The only tools you can use are sharp kitchen scissors and your hands.

    First, cut the top shell with sharp kitchen shears down the middle, being careful not to cut through the meat. Then, slide your finger under the shell to gently separate the lobster meat from the shell. Once the meat is separated from the shell, pull it through the slit you cut and rest it on top.

    If your lobster tail needs to be deveined, devein it at this time.

    Then I place my lobster tails in my Air Fryer and spread some garlic butter over the lobster. Then I close my air fryer and cook for 4 minutes at 380 degrees Fahrenheit. After 4 minutes, I open the air fryer basket and spread some more butter on top, and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

    The size of your lobster tails will determine how long you need to cook them. At a minimum, they will need 6 minutes if they are on the smaller side, about 2 ounces. The ones pictured here took me the full 8 minutes to be done and were about 4 ounces each.

    How To Make Air Fryer Lobster With Cream Sauce

    So just how do you make this recipe? Seafood lovers, rejoice! Its super simple, and is practically guaranteed to become your favorite way to make lobster at home.

  • Thaw the Lobster Tails. First off, make sure to thaw your lobster tails, if they are frozen. This means starting the night before!
  • Cut the Lobster Shells Open. Once your lobster tails are thawed, place them on a clean cutting board used for meats and seafood, and cut the top of the shell open with kitchen shears. Start at the front and cut toward the tail, but dont cut through the tailfins.
  • Butterfly the Lobster. Next, pull the shell halves apart gently, and run a spoon between the shell and the meat to loosen it on top. Pull the meat up and away from the bottom of the shell to loosen it on the bottom as well, but leave it attached near the tailfins. Finally, use a knife to cut a slit down the center of the meat, without cutting all the way through.
  • Season and Cook. Preheat your air fryer to 380F. Melt a tablespoon of butter, and brush the lobster tails with it. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and air-fry for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the lobster is opaque and cooked through. Check the temperature with a meat thermometer it should be 145°F.
  • Saute the Aromatics. While the lobster is cooking, melt the remaining butter in a skillet, and then cook the shallots in the melted butter for about one minute. Add the garlic and the parsley, and cook for another 20 seconds or so, stirring it to prevent scorching.

    The genius trick to this recipe is adding liquid to the bottom of the air fryer drawer . By doing this and pre-heating for 5 minutes, youll create a moist environment to cook the lobster and that helps to keep the lobster from drying out. Dont worry if you dont want to use wine try using chicken stock, orange juice, apple juice or even just water with the lemon slices.

    How To Butterfly Lobster Tails

    My favorite way to serve lobster is to butterfly it. If youve never done it, it may take some practice. Butterflying allows heat from the grill, oven, or air fryer to penetrate every piece of the tails meat. It allows the lobster tail to cook evenly, so you dont overcook it. It also looks beautiful.

    Pat the lobster tail dry. With kitchen shears, starting at the open end of the tail, cut a lengthwise slit through the center, top of the shell, stopping just before the fin of the tail. Youll also cut into the meat, which will butterfly it and cause it to sit better on the shell.

    Flip the tail over and then press down onto the ribs. Crack each one. This will work wonders at make it easier to pull the meat out on the other side.

    Slip your fingers under the meat and the shell and lift it out to prop over the shell.
